Engineering Manager Mobile Platform

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Platform Squad—a dynamic team at the heart of our mobile app performance, innovation, and seamless user experience. In this role, you’ll inspire and guide a talented group of engineers to push boundaries and deliver exceptional mobile experiences that set us apart.

This job is 100% remote and can be based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the U.K.
Your Mission
As the Team Lead of the Mobile Platform Squad at YAZIO, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for advancing our mobile platform.
  • Oversee development processes, architectural decisions, and team performance.
  • Foster innovation and growth within the mobile ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional squads to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, bringing the team together and promoting open communication.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the issue board and prioritize tasks based on company goals and technical vision.
  • Oversee monitoring tools like Sentry, Google Play, and App Store for crash and error tracking.
  • Lead dependency management and CI improvements.
  • Enhance developer tooling and workflows, including Firebase, Sentry, and more.
  • Guide architecture decisions for build, conventions, and design systems.
  • Lead QA engineers to automate testing and release pipelines.
  • Ensure robust core services like authentication, push notifications, and data tracking.

Your Profile
Leadership Experience
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams, guiding them to achieve their full potential.
Technical Expertise
  • Extensive experience in Kotlin development (5+ years), with a genuine passion for diving into new technologies.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and excitement about creating seamless cross-platform solutions.
  • Knowledge of iOS development using Swift and a deep understanding of Android development using Kotlin.
  • Expertise in mobile architecture patterns such as MVI, MVVM and MVC, knowing how to apply them effectively.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, making you a key player in any team setting.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
  • Resilience under stress, staying focused and driven by our mission.
Language
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written communication skills.
