People Operations & Payroll Specialist

This job is 100% remote and can be based in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the U.K.

Your Mission

Manage payroll processes for our international team ensuring accuracy and compliance while collaborating with external partners across multiple countries
Serve as the go-to expert for team members on payroll, tax and employees administration matters
Support year-end closing activities in People & Culture
Handle all aspects of contract management from creation to amendments
Maintain and optimize employee records, reference letters, compliance documentation, social security and pension schemes
Oversee and improve processes related to vacation accruals, time-tracking and overtime management
Support seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences for employees, including relocation support and benefits setup
Identify opportunities to enhance administrative processes, automate workflows and improve efficiency

Your Profile

3+ years of experience as an HR administration specialist, payroll specialist or in a similar role with exposure to international HR administration
Strong knowledge of German labor law, payroll systems and compliance regulations, with prior experience in German companies
Degree in HR, human services, business administration or a related field
Fluent in English and German, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Quick to grasp new concepts, adapt to change and implement improvements in a dynamic environment
Proficient in Google applications and experienced in HR tools like Personio
Detail-oriented, highly organized and capable of working independently to meet deadlines
Passion for fostering a positive employee experience and culture-building
Familiarity with remote-first work environments, including supporting international teams and navigating cross-border HR complexities
